THE OPPORTUNITY RIDE
We are seeking a seasoned Global Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
In this brand new role, this individual will be responsible for telling the GumGum story, driving marketing efforts to a variety of constituents that include — clients, reporters, analysts and investors. With over a decade of experience in machine learning expertise, GumGum is uniquely positioned in the industry as the leader of contextual intelligence, with our contextual advertising far outperforming our competitors. We are experiencing double digit growth and believe that we can be a $1BN company in the next 2 to 3 years.

THE ROLE
Qualifications
• Develop clear and creative content, messaging and positioning that stir emotion and cultivate familiarity. GumGum currently enjoys a brand favorability rating of 95% domestically.
• Oversee marketing and branding efforts that educate marketers about the uniqueness and efficacy of the GumGum suite of products.
• Differentiate GumGum from others by illustrating how our contextual intelligence Verity™ outperforms competitive solutions. According to a Dentsu independent study, we are the #1 provider of contextual intelligence solutions domestically.
• Develop value propositions that are compelling, differentiated and validated to defined Total Available Market (TAM) segments and Ideal Client Profile (ICP). We have two businesses: media and data processing.
• Ensure that all advertising and branding efforts integrate seamlessly with PR and event initiatives and reflect the vision, values and aesthetic sensibilities of GumGum. We are aiming to own 20% share of voice in the area of contextual advertising.
• Lead global marketing and corporate communications team. We currently have offices in the US, Canada, UK, Japan and are aiming to accelerate our global footprint in the next 12 months.
• Represent GumGum at industry events and senior client meetings. In addition, the CMO will speak on behalf of GumGum to reporters and industry analysts.
• Lead and grow a powerful demand generation machine to fuel growth. Leverage the marketing budget to generate leads and deliver measurable results from brand awareness.
• Oversee full team of marketers supporting revenue driving campaigns, operations and design.
• 20-25 years of experience with marketing, in a technology environment. Advertising technology experience is required
• Demonstrated experience as an executive with proven ability to build creative/collaborative teams, develop people, and link performance to overall business objectives
• Have “seen this before” and lived through the accelerated global growth
• Experience leading companies to an IPO or experience managing marketing teams for public companies
• Ability to lead and communicate cross-functionally with sales, product/engineering and other departments
• Be an empathetic, results focused leader who can persuade world-class talent to join us. We believe in a culture of performance and ongoing feedback
Desired Skills And Experience
• Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degree preferred
• Experience in video, OTT/CTV highly preferred
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally in late 2021 and 2022 (~15% of the time)
• International experience preferred but not required
